Below are the rules and conduct this club will follow, so be very sure to read them closely and keep them in mind during your time here! We want everyone to have a good time, and the rules are set to ensure that.

General Rules

These are the “common sense” rules. If broken, the mods will respond by issuing a warning. If broken again, it could result in removal from the group.

Be Respectful - If there are other members RPing in the chats and you would like to join, please ask them first. If you jump in, odds are you’re interrupting a plot the two may have planned or are trying to flesh out and well...that’s pretty rude, don’t you think?

No Bullying - As stated above, we’re all here to have fun. We get that drama happens and that’s just fine, but in no way do we want drama to escalate into something that could potentially be bullying. If we receive any reports of such things happening in the chatrooms, you can be sure we’ll investigate it and kick you out if you’re guilty of it. You will get absolutely no warnings on this. If you think you are being bullied, be sure to get a screencap of the situation as proof. There’s nothing we can do otherwise because there's no way to really resolve a "he-said-she-said" situation.

Stealing Art - You don't have to be the greatest artist in the world, but if we catch you tracing or copying you'll receive a warning. Trace again and we will have to remove you from the group. This includes drawing off of bases. Even though our group is based off of the Legend of Korra show, we would like all submitted artwork to be 100% original, hand-drawn or hand-written by the creator. However, if for any reason you end up using a reference or using a tutorial for your work, we expect you to give credit to the original artist. For a brief description of the difference between tracing, copying, and referencing, please check out ArtisticAnimanga's journal: artisticanimanga.deviantart.co…

Adult Content - The Legend of Korra is a PG-13 cartoon and therefore, We'd like to keep the club like that as well. By all means if you wanna go do the horizontal mambo with another character, go ahead and do it privately and away from the club. The same goes for art content. While we won't discourage you from drawing such things, we ask that you please keep it in good taste. We reserve the right to decline or remove any pieces from our gallery that might make other members uncomfortable.

No Godmoding - What is god moding? Urban Dictionary summarizes it quite nicely: "'God Moding'" is in essence when someone's character has the ability to do practically anything without limits or boundaries. An example is when they simply cannot be harmed by any and all means any other RP-ers try." (www.urbandictionary.com/define…) While it's okay for your characters to be strong, have great stamina or exceptional skill when it comes to fighting/bending, we ask that they not be indestructible. For example, if your character falls off the roof of a building chances are they're going to break a leg or a rib or something. It's just irritating and not fair to the other people you're RPing with.

Another problem we see a lot is metagaming. You may know of things that happen outside the RP such as relationships and each other’s character histories, but that does not mean your character does. Unless your character(s) are told in a RP or your partner okays it, your character cannot know of anything that hasn’t happened or hasn’t been told. Also, please refrain from putting words in another character's mouth or moving somebody else's character for them. It's just poor RP etiquette.

Activity

Every two months we will be checking for activity within the club to be sure everyone who signed up is still interested in participating in RC. Now, we know that stuff in that pesky thing called real life can come up: school, work, relationships, health issues, etc that might prevent you from being as active as you'd like to be. We understand! "Activity" to us basically means that you just post a comment on a journal or the front page every once in a while, just to show that you're still interested. You may RP in private, but the mods have no way to check that kind of activity which is why we ask that you submit something or comment in the group.

Submission Guidelines and Yuan

Before we touch on this subject, the club STRONGLY recommends that members make a folder titled “Republic City” in their own galleries for the sake of convenience. If we (or other members) cannot find art in your galleries then it will be hard to tell if you're even active.

Yuan - For submitting artwork, members will earn yuan, our group's form of participation points. The more complicated or detailed the picture, the more yuan is received. Yuan can be collected and exchanged for special group privileges such as new characters, pets, mounts, skills, etc. Once enough yuan is collected, members must contact the group with the amount of yuan they have and what they would like to "purchase." You must do this before you can update your character's application or start RPing with the special privileges you wish to purchase. A mod will go through your gallery to verify that the amount you claim to have is true. For more information, see the full journal about Yuan and Participation in Republic City: republiccity.deviantart.com/jo…

Quality - While we will accept traditional artwork, we ask that unless the art is 3D (jewelry, sculptures, cosplay, etc.) it be properly scanned. Artwork submitted as a photo will not be accepted, as quality is usually poor.

Non-Member Artwork - We've created a folder specifically for non-member RC related artwork. If you've purchased a commission of your character, participated in an art trade, or received fanart, let us know! We'll request that the piece be added to our gallery. The only rule is that the artwork must be of a current character in Republic City.

Other

If you have a suggestion, please take it up privately with the group through a note. Not that we don't want anyone else to read your suggestion, but this is just to ensure that those not familiar with the group or still getting used to the rules aren't confused about what is and what isn't.
